The Love of God

by Brian

God, the Most Holy Trinity, is a community of love. His love knows no bounds and constantly floods our world, seeking hearts and souls open and willing to receive this most precious and glorious gift.

When I pray my daily Rosary, no matter what mystery I meditate on I am always drawn to how much Jesus loves us. Every episode of Christ's life, from the Incarnation to the Ascension, speaks one word - "love".

At times I find it very hard to understand and even believe that God could love a poor sinner like me. And yet every time I look at Our Lord on the crucifix I know he died for me. Not out of pity but out of love.

God's love for each of us is more real and authentic than anything we could ever imagine. It is a love that transforms the heart, strengthens the spirit and is "everlasting". God's love never fails.

Jesus spoke about the love of God and how much each soul, each human person means to the Father. Far too many Catholics have accepted this reality with their intellect, but not with their heart. They believe that Jesus loves them, but it's a superficial sort of belief that has little bearing on their daily lives.

The greatest examples we have of people who experienced and lived the love of God are the saints. Within their hearts they knew God loved them and that He desired their eternal salvation. His love inspired them, comforted them and was their prize possession.

What a different world it would be if every Catholic deep within their hearts knew how much God loved them. Our society, culture and Church would be transformed in such a marvelous way that all of creation would be praising and blessing the majesty and love of God forever and ever.

God bless.
